Plastic Wrap Magic

So about 2 weeks ago my Grandma Helen was here and we were talking about the move and she looked up at our 4 DVD shelves that are stocked full of DVD's and she said "I would just use plastic wrap and wrap those up and move them with the DVD's in them." Matt thought that she was nothing short of brilliant and asked me about a zillion times to go and get some plastic wrap. So I went out and spent $20 on plastic wrap and Matt started with the DVD shelves and then continued on to use it on EVERYTHING else! He and Mike has so much fun wrapping things up that Mike even came up with a system for spinning items on a towel so that Matt could go around it with the plastic wrap. Needless to say we got our $20 worth out of that plastic wrap! We used every last scrap of that roll!

I know that Grandma Helen would be proud!

Please keep us in our prayers, we are so close...yet so far away! We have to finish cleaning and Matt will be fixing some items in the old house tomorrow but after that we should be out. But the one thing that we figured out in all of this is we have A LOT of CRAP and we are going to need one BIG truck to get it to Idaho!! We are very tired and I think Ty is ready to have some play time evenings with Matt again! But we probably have two more good days to get through before it is all said and done, so just pray for energy and sanity :)

What is in that box?

Ty has been helping out with writing on the boxes. Only for some reason he has deemed it necessary to follow everything with a question mark so now we don't know if that is really what is in the box or if that is what room it belongs in. At least he is being helpful.

Moving is NO FUN!

We could use some prayer because we are in the throws of packing up our prized possessions...which we are coming to find out is made up of a bunch of JUNK! But the good news is that as usual our Ty kid has been a trooper! He has been so amazing letting us pack everything up and spending hours in the garage after school while we go through boxes to get rid of stuff. He has been creative on what to do in the garage...he made a bed on the futon that we have in the garage complete with a blanket (which is that non skid stuff you put under carpets) he laid down on the bed he made and read some of Matt's old comics and books we found in the garage from when he was a kid.
Keep Matt and I in your prayers we are running out of steam fast and we have to move everything out of our house by the first....NO FUN...I wish we could wiggle our nose and have it be done.

Wacky Wed

The School had Wacky Wednesday last week and Ty and I dressed up for it...I don't know how he got away with not looking very wacky. He allowed Matt to do his hair into a mohawk, only as soon as we got to the school and one little girl laughed and pointed at his hair he went right into the bathroom and wet it down. Anyway enjoy this picture of the two of us on Wacky Wednesday. By the way, being a teacher just gives you a good excuse to wear a pink feather boa...Ty only wore my blue one for the picture...he would have NEVER worn it to school.

In Trouble

Today Ty got in BIG trouble at school. Since his bad attitude continued all the way home, Matt and I made him do his homework, eat dinner, take a bath and go to bed. We felt bad because he was truly remorseful and knew that he did it to himself. But Matt and I explained to him that he could sit on his bed and look at his books only until he fell asleep. After that Matt and I went downstairs and started watching American Idol. We must have been really into the show because I got up to go to the bathroom and see Ty hiding beside the couch watching American Idol right along with us. He must have stealth mode because if you have been to our house you will know that getting down the stairs and into the living room undetected is pretty amazing. When I caught him he said I came to ask you something, "Do I have to stay in my bed forever?" When I took him upstairs he told me he had been watching for a long time...At that point I just had to laugh and give it to him. As of right now he is back in his bed...or we think so!

Those are 5 Year old guns

I am finally getting connected on downloading videos from the new camcorder that I got for my birthday. The night before Ty's birthday we captured this fantastic video of him showing Matt and I his muscles! He is so funny! Anyway Enjoy...there is more where that came from as soon as I play with the camcorder more.

Slow Ride

I knew that If I held out posting anything to the blog for a while I would get some family to finally come and visit us! Grandma Helen and Auntie came here for Ty's birthday Party which will be this Sunday with his friends. He is having a blast having them do exactly what he wants. For example sitting in tiny little chairs to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks with him. Or following you around the block on your scooter. We are also having very ODD weather here. It was in the high 70's yesterday...which we NEVER get. But it was so nice to have Grandma here and not have to have her be cold! He was also given his Birthday gift from Grandma, Aunt and Uncle Henry. GUITAR HERO, it is a little hard for him to play but he is getting it and having a blast. Mostly he just wants to hold the guitar and look like a rock star, we have to hear the song "Slow Ride" over and over again because that is the easiest song to play so that is the one that he likes to play because he can hit the notes since they are longer. He is loving it.
