God's Amazing Love

Today I am in awe of how wonderful God has been to our family lately! A couple of weeks ago I talked to a family from our church who needed child care for their 2 kids who are in school. I worked out a good schedule with them and 2 other families from our church to watch their kids. Literally a couple of days after this falling into place to watch these kids, I received a phone call from the daycare I worked at basically telling me to come back now or be replaced. (It was at only 4 weeks post partum, TOTALLY illegal, but that is besides the point) Clearly God was looking after our family by putting things into place before this happened! So I have started watching kids for these wonderful families from our church and Ty is enjoying it too because he comes home to a bunch of playmates. :)...Except the fact that they are all girls!

So these are my blessings...Ty, Allison (2nd grade), and Jayden & Andi (Kindergarten)

I asked them to make a funny face...Apparently they all only know one funny face... :)

So with my wonderful new schedule, I don't pick up kids from school until 11:45am so I get all morning to myself to find great coupon deals to be blessed by! Today I was able to find like the holy grail of all deals for me....INFANT FORMULA! With Lyla only being able to stand the expensive ready-to-feed I have been keeping an eye out for good deals on it. We have a little stocked up, but once that is gone I am going to move her on to Walmart Brand. But thanks to today's find she will get to eat the expensive stuff for 7 more days! And I of course found some other good deals while I was out!

All of this would have cost me $59.38...

But I only paid $16.19!!

Those cans of formula are regularly $6.48 each, but I got them for $1.80 each! So God is blessing us with work from home and cheap formula! He's my kinda guy!

1st day of 1st grade!

Just took Ty to his first day of 1st grade! Where has the time gone?? It feels like it was just yesterday that he was the size of Lyla! I can't believe this is the same little boy!!

He was very excited to go this morning he was wearing his backpack from the time he woke up! I think his teacher is going to be great for him. Or maybe he will be good for her! :) We all know how good he is at giving people a run for their money!

Sign Language

A couple of posts ago I mentioned that Auntie Irene taught Ty sign language while driving back from the Mountain Home AFB. They continued to play this game where they would spell stuff to each other in sign language. When Aunt left she promised to send Ty a sign language book. Today he received a package in the mail containing a sign language book!! He was so excited! He had been telling people his Aunt was sending a book. Aunt bought herself the same book and tonight they got on Skype and were practicing. I was sitting on the couch watching TV and realized that Lyla was intently watching Ty as he talked to Auntie. It was so cute! So I snapped a picture with my phone...

It is freakin' AMAZING how fast Ty learns new things!!!

Snug as a Bug in Big Brother's Bed

At bed time Ty really likes to have Lyla lay in his bed for a while before she goes to her bed. Well last night Matt laid Lyla down next to him and she passed out! It was so cute. He sure loves her. I got some picture of her laying there next to her big brother...She looks so tiny next to him! I can't believe he starts 1st grade next week! Where has the time gone??

Mommy left me!...In the Crib!

Lyla has been on a pretty good schedule, but with all the family around she has been held way too much! So today I put her in the crib and made her take her nap in the crib...She didn't mind...AT FIRST!

I gave her, the pacifier and she checked out her mobile for a while... and then....Oh wait! No one is holding me!!! THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!!....

Then she FREAKED!...Don't worry I didn't leave her there long! :)

I can make you smile

Yesterday Ty requested to hold Lyla. He usually does a couple of times a day, so he sat down on the couch and I put her on his lap, and she stretched out like this ...and then just started RIPPING some really LOUD farts.

Ty just started laughing, he thought it was so FUNNY! Then he looked down and said "her shirt says, I CAN MAKE YOU SMILE" I said well she did....She farted on you and you smiled...We both just busted out laughing.

I'm sure she will love that story when she is older!!

Lyla's First Bath

Last night we gave Lyla a big bath. She thought it was pretty great she just layed there like she was being pampered at the spa. It was very different from her brother who used to scream as though he was being harmed while you gave him a bath. Here are some pictures from all the excitement...

Happy Birthday Auntie!

We are still enjoying the company of family in the Davis house. I think if you ask Matt the best part is, that we have been eating the most amazing dinners for the last month!! And he has probably gotten to go on more golf outings than usual. This week Aunt and Grandma are here and tonight we are enjoying enchiladas! Complements of Grandma Helen, and the fact that it is Auntie's Birthday! I think Auntie is enjoying her time with the kids :) Here is a cute picture of her and Ty Kid laughing together. She has also taught Ty the alphabet in sign language! (Which took all of about an hour for Ty to learn) And they play this game where the spell out stuff to each other in sign language. It is crazy how fast this kid learns!


Lyla Bug is growing so fast! Every day she looks bigger to me. I think we may have figured out the formula thing and of course the one that works for my daughter is the most expensive one :) She is such a good baby though. I think we have her on a great schedule and she is sleeping really good at night she is just getting up one time between about 3:30 or 4am and then sleeping until usually 8 or 8:30am. So really I can't complain!! Here is some recent pictures of Lyla Rose, or Lyla Bug as Daddy & Ty call her...

Made Ya LOOK!

Remember when I said Lyla is not much of a cryer...Well she has figured it out, and she is pretty darn good at it I might add. I am not sure if she is just testing it out or what but, this morning after she stayed awake for a good hour, I put her down in her crib to sleep and went off to take a shower. She was sound asleep when I put her down, but I put the monitor in the bathroom just in case. I got in the shower and got my hair wet, I even got shampoo in my hair,...Then I hear the little joy screaming at the top of her lungs! Which I am sure is just amplified by the baby monitor. So I jump out of the shower grab a towel try and dry off as fast as I can and run into her room. Only to find her like this...

Sound asleep...QUIET as can be....

I'm sure when I left her room to go get the soap off myself she had a good laugh at my expense. She is probably thinking, this crying stuff is great, they totally come running!!
