Ms. Albre's Christmas Party

Since the kids are out of school we had our Christmas Party today! Ty and I planned a bunch of stuff for the kids to do and we had a GREAT time!! We started out the morning by writing letters to Santa, and getting started on the coloring contest that we were going to have.
They COULD NOT WAIT to open the presents that I got them! They were begging me all morning to open them.
If you know the right people...Santa makes house calls! :) The kids were SHOCKED when Santa knocked on the front door and came inside to hear what they wanted for Christmas. They each took their turn sitting on his lap and telling him what they want...Sorry Wolf's and Tindall's there were a lot of American Girl dolls involved! They also gave him the letters that they wrote him. Here they are with Santa...

Allison...
Andi...
Jayden...
Alivia...
Anna...

Lyla was okay with Santa! Which is pretty impressive since she is not so sure about new people. She did great!
Oddly Ty was not interested in Santa, he said several times, "that's Papa", but still would not go anywhere near him! But when Santa got up to leave he did give him a fist bump.

After Santa left I told them we could open them FINALLY!...

Breaking into the presents!

I got a great deal on Jammies for all the kids the day after thanksgiving! I bought all the girls iCarly jammies, and I got Ty a pair of Mario Cart jammies. They loved them. I was a little worried they would be disappointed by them since for weeks now they have been looking at their presents speculating what was inside... What they were dreaming of was way better than jammies. :)
Funny Faces!!
The kids love this show called iCarly(hence the jammies)! They ask me to turn it on every day after school and on the show they always eat Spaghetti Tacos. Sounds crazy but I told the kids that during Christmas break we would have Spaghetti Tacos for lunch so we enjoyed them today. They were pretty good. Here are pictures of the kids enjoying Spaghetti tacos. Oh and here is the SHOCKER....Ty ATE them!!!But I didn't get a picture so I don't have proof. :(

Last, we made "Muddy Buddies" Chex Mix! The kids loved it, they all helped and then they all loved eating it! Mmmmm! ...Except TY!...Here they all are while cooking...

It was a FANTASTIC day! I am so blessed that these families are in our life and that by watching these wonderful children I am able to stay home! It is so great to have some kids in my home that I really look forward to having here!! They are such wonderful kids!! I have so much fun with them!

How to clean a toilet

A lot is going on at our house! Since Ty likes to forget to raise the seat or to even LOOK where he is peeing, I decided it was time for him to learn to clean his own toilet. He said "this is easy" so little does he know if it is so easy you can keep doing it on a regular basis :)

Also I have been at it again!! Joye and I had a great trip to Walgreens the other night, every now and then we call a trip "blog worthy" and this was a trip that was "blog worthy". All of this would have cost me $ 52.64

By combining sales and coupons, I only paid $20.19!!

Baby it's COLD outside!!

Winters are a little bit colder when your address doesn't include the letters CA!! We got just dumped on today and it is stinkin' Cold outside!! We shoveled the driveway twice! (but we whistled while we worked :) Ty had a blast helping Daddy and then he had his friend Jayden come over and play with him outside. And of course they came inside warmed up and played Wii...unfortunately Jayden schooled Ty at Wii bowling...he was pretty devastated!

Here is a picture of the house all covered in snow!

Here is a picture of me and Matt with our Idaho Snow Shovels. (A piece of sheet rock) Inspired by Travis Tindall! Thanks Travis you might be Matt's new hero!

The great Mashed Potato stand off of 09

We have been trying really hard to get Ty to eat new foods, which many of you know we will admit is the downfall of our parenting! We have been really trying...well lets face it all we do is bribe him and then face the agony that goes along with him crying while he is trying a food that is really not as bad as he makes out to be. You would think we were feeding him cow brains or something!. So anyway in attempt to get him to eat SOMETHING related to thanksgiving we made him a deal to eat mashed potatoes. and of course we bribed him.So at thanksgiving dinner we dished him up a small pile of mashed potatoes, and he cried and complained before even taking a bite! We talked and kept asking him to take a bite....Well no can do!! That kid finally said, "I'll just save my money and buy the game I want." Thinking we would call his bluff we said "fine, but we know you don't have enough change to buy a game." You would think that we would know better than to call this kids bluff right! But NO, so after dinner he went straight to all of his stashes of change & dollars (thanks to ALL of his Grandparents!) After some careful counting of all of his money Matt discovered that this kid has $42.00 stashed away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So there goes that! We are going to have to rush him off to the store so that we have some leverage again!!

For the record the kid DOES eat turkey on a regular basis, but he calls it ham. When I revealed this to him he was sure it was packaged wrong! At least he is sure of himself!

Getting Teeth & Turning 4 months!

It has been some exciting times in the Davis house latley! The eldest of the Davis children lost his first tooth 2 weeks ago! It was very exciting!! It was really wiggly for several weeks, and finally I made a big enough deal out of it that he let Matt pull it. He was so excited about the tooth fairy coming he practicaly ripped the tooth out of Matt's hand and ran up stairs to put it under his pillow. He was so cute!! He would't even sleep on his pillow so that the tooth fairy could get to the tooth easy. And when he woke up in the morning he found that the tooth fairy brought him $2! Here are some pictures from the tooth pulling event.

Also this last week Lyla Bug turned 4 months old! She is weighing in at 13lbs 3 oz. She is such a joy....She is a LOUD joy. She loves to talk VERY LOUD! But it is really fun to hear her voice. Her 2 favorite things right now are Matt and Ty. No matter how bad a mood she is in Ty can always make her smile! He is such a great big brother. She also enjoys scooting her butt off the diaper as you are trying to change her, pulling my hair, and her daddy tickling her. He is the only one who can get her to giggle. She still LOVES to have a bath, and she thinks it is funny when I whisper to her. She is just so much fun! Here is a pretty picture of her! She has beautiful blue eyes. (we will see if they stay blue, but I think they will)

Halloween!

We had a great Halloween! My mom came to visit for a week and it was great! It was really nice to have some extra hands around. We got some great stuff for decorating the dinning room so that we can finnally make that room look good :) The big kids all had 2 days off of school so she really helped out with enteraining them while they were here all day. Here are some pictures of our Halloween adventures. Ty was Anakin Skywalker... Which it was actually pretty creepy to see him with that face...But he LOVED the costume....

Lyla wore her Lady bug costume...She was such a beautiful Lady Bug!

But after some trick or treating she was a VERY tired Lady Bug!

Joye & I went as Coupon Queens! We had such a blast making our costumes! We made shopping carts with our coupon binders in them, it was fun to come up with something that was so us...because lets face it this is what we look like when it is not Halloween.

Then SUCCESS!

So a long time ago we ordered some dinning room chairs, and when they came the directions to put them together were in horrible English. We laughed so hard because it went a little something like this,...FIRST SCREW TO TIGHTEN, and at the end it said THEN SUCCESS! So we often say THEN SUCCESS when something is done. Anyway last night the head member of our family decided to re-live his college years by camping outside of Buffalo Wild Wings. If you don't know about Buffalo Wild Wings, it is a sports bar that specializes in WINGS go figure. Anyway every time they open a new location the first 100 people through the door on opening day get a coupon book good for 6 free wings every week for a year. People camp out to be sure that they are there when they open. And one of the 100 was our very own Matt Davis. So we (or shall I say he)will enjoy 6 wings every week for the next year. :)Here are some pictures of his adventure.

Here is what the line of people waiting looked like....

Here is Matt in the wee hours of the morning in front of the restaurant...

THEN SUCCESS!

Our 3 month old Lady Bug

If a lady bug's spots stood for months of life, this little Lady bug would have 3 spots! Yup our little lady bug turned 3 months old yesterday. She is such a JOY. She smiles all the time, and usually if she is fussy at all it simply means she is tired. She loves her daddy, and her brother, her poor mom has to act like a total idiot in order to get a smile! We have been so blessed by this beautiful little girl!!

This is THE BUG'S costume for Halloween...

Apparently it looked good enough to eat.....
