2 Ty Stories

7 Houses in Nampa:
Last night I was getting Ty in bed and we do this thing where I tell him, I love you and he says I love you as big as...and then he says something near us. Well last night he said I love you as big as this cup. And I said I love you as big as that wall, and he said I love you as big as our old house. I said I love you as big as our new house and he said I love you as big as 7 houses in Nampa. I just couldn't help but smile huge. I am sure after looking at all those different houses in Nampa he knew that was pretty big! :) It was just so sweet, it was like he knew my desire for a new house in Nampa and how much 7 of them would mean to me.

Bugs under your toenails:
So Ty HATES to have me cut his finger nails and toe nails, I don't know why he hates it. But tonight I was begging him to let me cut his toe nails because they were NASTY, and he was sure as heck not going to let me do it. So finally I said fine you can leave them that way but you are probably going to have a bug go and live under your toe nails and get a fungus. He said what is a fungus? I said it is a little bug that goes and lives under your toe nail. I said a little but will crawl up and see "Oh look at this long toe nail I can live under here" Matt walked in on the middle of this conversation and said "that is messed up" But after finding out that he could possibly have a bug live under his nail, and the only way to avoid that would be to keep them short, he let me cut them. The things that we tell our children to get them to do stuff...It worked though

On the road again!

After driving 12.5 hours to Idaho with a 26 foot truck, we began the house hunt...AGAIN!...After 1 full day of looking at houses and several ups and downs of negotiation...I think we have found one...or at least anther one since the last deal feel through. It Unfortunately is another short sale but this one is being sold by the owner/agent who has assured us that she already has bank approval so we pushed for a fast close and we are set to close on June 6th. It is in the same neighborhood as the other one so we are still just up the street from our friends that live in the hood... (Juan, Joye, J-Rob, Moyer and Josh)

We feel like it is in a much better location in the neighborhood. And best yet it is BRAND NEW...NEVER BEEN LIVED IN!! So we don't have to clean up it is just ready and waiting for us! We look at houses a bit different than other people, Our Realtor said "This is a first" when Matt and Mike just crawled right into the crawl space of the house and started crawling around. But I have to say it is pretty nice having my very own contractor. We plan to add another room and extend a 1/2 bath into a full bath...A walk in the park for Matt. (Here he is half way in the crawl space)

While we were driving around looking at houses we let Ty ride with Papa in Papa's Miata. He was loving it, he was pretending he was "Koopa Troopa" on the Mario Cart video game

So after we went on a house hunt we had the joy of attending Kara and Diego's wedding and watching the MOST HANDSOME ring bearer there EVER was. After refusing to go down the isle at the rehearsal we were so excited that he did his job at the wedding with out a second look.

He did fantastic, he was so cute up there watching Kara and Diego do their unity sand.

and then he tore up the dance floor with both the bride and the groom.. Diego and Kara were so wonderful dancing with him. Diego even got down on his knees to dance with Ty. It was such a beautiful wedding and we were so excited that Ty was a part of it.

I guess you can say that it was a successful trip. Here are some other pictures of us from the day of the wedding. It was just BEAUTIFUL!
Ty & Papa in their suits for the wedding...Mike officiated the wedding.

And by the end he was over it!

2008 ING Bay to Breakers

So Brenda does this race in the city every year and every year she asks me to do it with her. This year since we are leaving I figured I had to do it with her. It is called bay to breakers, so it is literally from one end of the city to the other. It starts at Justin Herman Plaza in downtown and goes all the way to Ocean Beach. Which is 7.5 miles. People get crazy and dress up build floats that they travel on. They push shopping carts full of beer cages. And there are tons of people who even run it naked. It was pretty crazy. I am glad I experienced it though. Here are some pictures of our journey. We ran some of the way but mostly walked...Really fast. :)

The Starting line where they throw tortillas and marshmallows into the crowd...I have no idea why.

I couldn't pass up a picture of this sign...gotta love those people that get out there to tell the world they are doing wrong :)

Proof of our horrible gas prices...I snapped this picture as we were walking on the panhandle by the park

Good News I made it out alive! 7.5 miles is a LONG way!

Another Crazy week in the life of the Davis'

So we had another crazy week. This move was supposed to slow things down for us for 3 months, but NO it has been non-stop action. Yesterday Matt took Ty to what will probably be his last Giants game for a while, at least until we come back to visit. It was crazy hot but they went out with a bang by siting in the owners seats right next to the field. The home plate umpire handed Ty a game ball at the end as he was walking of the field. Matt also took Ty to the kids size baseball field that is in the park where he of course hit one out of the park! (Atta BoY!!!) He also hit one and hit the jumbotron that is in the park! (That's what I'm Talkin' about!) Then we ended the night with seeing "Into the Woods" at Convent (Brenda's school) and took a mini tour of Brenda's school, which as most of you know is a mansion in San Francisco that has a beautiful view of the bay. Here is a picture of Ty sitting in the library of the Flood Mansion...Not a bad view behind him huh?

Today we took delivery on our new living room furniture that will go into the truck on Tuesday and be haled off to Idaho with all of our other priceless treasures...i.e. JUNK! Pray for us as we continue looking for a house, and schools for Ty. I will also be meeting with a wonderful Christian preschool while we are in Nampa who is interested in hiring me. Oh yeah and we will be attending Kara & Diego's wedding, shouldn't be too crazy of a trip...Do you hear my sarcasm?

Fundraising

We started a fundraiser at school today, and Ty really wasn't interested in selling anything but when I told him that he could win a prize he was all ready to go. He has gotten it into his head that he is going to win first prize and that he is going to sell a million boxes. He is selling Crayola Cooking Kits so if you receive a call that is what he is trying to sell you.

Watch him take Papa for $100... I mean sell Papa 10 boxes. :)

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day at the Monterey Bay aquarium. It was very Fun! Brian Kellerer was home from San Diego and since we are living with Debi, Ty got to spend all weekend with him. I think he loved every minute of it. Here are some pictures from our trip to the aquarium and the time with Brian.

Ty with his map of the Aquarium...He is ready to go!
Matt and I after 5 min in the Aquarium!

Just the three of us overlooking the Monterey Bay...Happy Mother's Day!

Ty and Brain, Ty looking like Brian...he is wearing Brian's sunglasses and his hat. Too Cute!!

Homeless!

We found out yesterday that our offer on the house in Idaho was rejected. The bank doesn't want to do a short sale and apparently wants to foreclose on the house. Our guess is that the owners have more in assets than we know and the bank knows they can go after them in another way. So anyway it was just a really "shady" deal and we are just glad to be out of it. We are back on the market as buyers so please pray with us as we look again. Which is much easier said than done. Since we also found out this week that Ty did not get in to the charter school that we wanted him to go to. So now we have to figure out options for schools as well. It is just proving to be a very stressful process.

More Soccer Fun

We had our second to last soccer game today...Which of course had it's own share of drama, after refusing to play Ty finally went in and right away scored a goal. Here they are the spring season Team of S.F. United... (Ty's in the front row) Today was also the coaches son's birthday so they treated the whole team to a ride on the Merry-Go-Round. It is this very cool Merry-Go-Round that dates back to 1912! We are surrounded by such amazing things here in this city. His lip looks a lot better Huh?

A Lesson Learned

Today our son learned a very valuable lesson. What would that lesson be you ask? That words can hurt too and...
If you tease another child you might just get hit!

Unfortunately the other kid looks a lot better. After teasing a little boy who is actually his friend, this other kid had enough and took a toy bucket and threw it at Ty. He has one VERY fat lip cut gums above his two front teeth and a nice scrape and bruise on his forehead. Hopefully he won't do too much more teasing after this.

He is still pretty cute even with a fat lip and a band-aid on his head! :)
