AsiaSF

There is this restaurant in San Francisco that I have been hearing about and I really have been wanting to go before we leave. Matt was going to take me on our anniversary but because we both worked we couldn't go. So tonight some friends finally let me drag them out to it. The reason I say drag them out to it, is because at this restaurant all of the waitresses are transgender...yes you heard me correct, they are previously men...and are now women. And they are very nice looking women I might add. The restaurant is called AsiaSF and we had a BLAST! It was so much fun, by the time we left our faces hurt from laughing. The waitresses not only serve you, but then they get up on the bar and dance for you! It was just the thing we needed to do before we left for a place like Idaho. And I do believe we are going to have to go there every time we visit to keep us cultured :)

Here is what Joaquin and Brian looked like when the show started....

Matt was doing okay with the show until one of the entertainers jumped down of the bar and grabbed a guy at the table next to us and kissed him. Then Matt just did his best not to make eye contact.
Here is one of the entertainers...This one is for my mom because she came out dressed as Tina Turner and did Proud Mary....You would have loved it mom!

It was just such a GREAT time! I highly recommend it, to anyone who visits San Francisco. Here is our whole group with one of the waitresses. Yep that's a Man Baby can you tell????

Ty at the movies

Although he is leading a VERY busy schedule right now, with Musical Theater Camp and Hip Hop class! Ty managed to squeeze in a night at the movies with his parents. We went to see Wall-E. (he loved it) the theater has some really fun statues right now so he stopped for me to snap some pictures. Enjoy.

By the way Musical Theater is a huge hit! It is a camp that he is going to for 2 weeks. They are doing singing, dancing and set design which is basically craft time and then they tape them to the wall. The theme for the camp is Jungle Book, and Tarzan. It is going to be awesome! I will make sure to upload video of it! We have been so blessed to have this Dance Studio come into our lives during this time of transition for him to have something to look forward to. It really has been great!

A Dream Come True

About 2 years ago Ty fell on the concrete area outside of his preschool and really got hurt he had a huge bruise and his head swelled up like crazy. As a parent that is so terrifying! I went to the school to pick him up and saw this crazy gash on his head and he was crying it was terrible. After that I started a campaign to better the play area in front of his school. Including installing this very expensive stuff called bounce back rubber tiles. It is in lots of the new playgrounds today. I just picked up my torch and began planning for this project. I did a fundraiser night at Fuddruckers and all of the families came, I asked all of the parents to donate some money and some did so. But still we did not have the money to cover the cost of this rubber flooring. So as you all know a month or two ago the school did a cooking kit fundraiser. Which Ty carried his own torch in and decided he was going to sell the most. With that fundraiser we were able to raise $2,000...which by the way is 1/2 the cost of the rubber! And with the other money we raised were able to do even more than just the rubber! Today we had a parent work day to install everything and put together all the new toys I ordered and I was able to watch my dream unfold. When I went to the school to work today I was able to take some before and after photos. Here is what the before looked like.

Before

And here is the
AFTER

The area by this little house is all landscaped now with playground fiber. Before it was just covered in sand that the kids had carried out of the sandbox and it was so dusty! So we got the new playhouse and everything is all clean now.

I am just so proud of this project and even though Ty will not be there much longer at least I can leave knowing that the kids that I feel in love with while teaching there over the last year are going to have a safe and fun place to play!
Special Thanks goes out to all of you who made this possible by buying cooking kits!

New shoes and a new friend.

We had a good long weekend for the 4th of July weekend. It started of on Thursday by Matt taking off early from work to pick up Ty and take him to Hip Hop. For those of you who don't know Matt is working around the clock right now trying to finish up a project so that our friends (the Kilgores') who have 7 boys will have a finished house at the end of the month. So for him to take off early and take Ty to class was a real treat. After their class we went out to dinner and we were looking for some new shoes for Ty to wear at Hip Hop class. We let him pick which ones he would like and low and behold here are the ones he picked.

Hopefully it is a sign that he is going to be a trend-setter!

We then headed up to Petaluma to stay at Silver Penny for the weekend. It was a nice relaxing time for me and Ty...Matt worked and just commuted from there. So Ty and I hung by the pool where he met a new friend. "Frankie" the frog.... (I believe he named him after Francis, Kurt and Heidi's son, who Heidi often calls "Frankie") Anyway I was shocked that he actually picked the thing up. But he did and he swam all over the pool with him. Here are some pictures of him swimming with "Frankie" (Frankie is the brown dot on Ty's hand Sorry I didn't get any close ups of him)

As my dad would say we had a "big time", but the best thing was that our electronic junkie of a son went a full weekend without having to play his Wii or watch T.V. It was a much needed break for him. Matt and I had a good time too. Matt is very tired from his job right now. So please keep him your prayers. On a happier note we are only 27 days away from leaving for Nampa and moving into our new casa! Let the count down BEGIN!
