FIRST DAY OF 3rd Grade

Today was Ty’s first day of school. He is a 3rd grader now, and he was so excited to start school again. We went Friday and met his teacher Ms. Greenlee who seemed to have everything under control….at least she handled me well, which says a lot for her since I tend to (as Matt would put it) bust in the door with guns blazing’. She put my mind at ease and made me feel like she was going to do a good job of challenging Ty this year. We had to get up early because it was the first day of the before and after school program that I started as well! But he got to get dressed up in his new clothes. He picked out his shirt especially for his teacher Ms. Greenlee who loves the color green and decorated the class in shamrocks.  He couldn’t wait to show her the shirt.  Way to start out the year kissing butt…You know he IS smart!!

Since Ty is the last stop on the before and after school train I got to go into the school with him and walk him to his classroom. It was great! We got this nice picture of him at his desk. I can’t wait for another year of watching Ty in amazement. I hope that he has a great year.  I love you so much Ty KID!

It's ALL Happening

I got all caught up on homework tonight so I thought I would devote a little time to the blog. :)

So as most everyone knows one of my favorite movies is Almost Famous The story of Cameron Crowe....it is the story of a teenager who follows a band and writes for Rolling Stone, when he lies about his age; which mirrors Cameron Crowe's real life since he himself as a teen wrote for Rolling Stone. If you have not seen it you must it has some fabulous lines in the movie....one of which is:

"It's ALL Happening!"

Every now and then it fits life so well to say "It's ALL Happening!" and that is certainly how I feel right now!!! We have been leading a VERY busy life! I thought I would give you all a little update on everything and everyone :)

Ty and Matt just finished an AMAZING baseball season! The RiverCats went 13-0-1 They went undefeated going into the playoffs and got all the way to the championship and lost :( They had TERRIBLE weather for the championship game, they had to bring the kids into the dugout 3 times. But the kids worked hard all season and did amazing and when they found out they were still getting cool trophies for 2nd place they were ok with 2nd place :) The kids and the coaches did great. We are so blessed to have been connected with the families that are on our team!

I am doing probably WAY more than I should but so far I havn't lost my mind...Although I did take my frustration out on an unsuspecting easter basket that I was sick of looking at in the dinning room.... Shhh! Don't TELL Ty! School is going good...besides the times I want to throw my computer through a window, I am doing good...still getting good grades and all...and on top of school, I am working A LOT lately! We started a new Summer School Age Program this last week, and we have 32 children enrolled for the program!!! And we now have 36 children enrolled in the daycare! Meaning that KIDZone Learning Center is touching the lives of 68 children all together!!! I am gearing up for and planning our 1 year anniversary celebration the end of July and if your in the Nampa area you should come over and help us celebrate this journey and how we have grown! We couldn't have grown so much without the love and support of so many.

Lyla is still a monster! She is talking up a storm and keeping us moving. We are excited to have the pool open now so we will be able to take the kids out and just PLAY!

Yesterday was Ty's eighth birthday!! Since he had a game last night we couldn't do anything so tonight we took him to "Donnie Macs, Trailer Park Cuisine" in Boise. It is this great eclectic place and it was featured on the food network. They have a car that has a table in it that you can eat in and it is so much fun! You can even write in it with chalk. They have fabulous food too! At least I liked it! I had trucker Mac n cheese with sweet potato fries! It was soooooo yummy!! Ty had fun too :) I'll try and upload some of the more fun pics that Aunt took with her camera :)

Since Ty's not really in to cupcakes I decided we needed an alternative for his birthday at school. Plus we have baseball that night & we are bringing snacks so we are bringing personalized candy-bars instead! We had someone make the logo and I'm printing em and wrapping em :)

Boise Rock School

I randomly came across an add in the Boise Paper for a place called the Boise Rock School several weeks ago it was an add for their Spring Break Camp. So I spoke to Ty and his best buddy Ethan’s family (who has also shown interest in music) and we signed them up. After the first day the boys came home saying it was more than awesome. By the second day I witnessed Ty singing, playing drums, and playing the guitar! They also did some original song writing. It was just amazing!! The only downside is that it is in downtown Boise so it takes us 30 min to get there. So you know me….I spoke with the owners about coming to Nampa! They are in! We are coordinating for them to come to Nampa in July and do a summer camp! We will market it along with our summer school age program. Anyway, Ty loved it and we will try and continue to fan this flame!! They offer some weekend and evening classes but we will need to think about that when baseball is over... Here are some videos of him playing at their final concert today. The Safari one is their original song that they wrote…Ty plays the drums.
