We have been in Nampa for the past 4 days, and what started out as a informative trip quickly grew into Matt and I placing our first offer ever on a house. We went through a whole slew of emotions on this trip from being terrified that they would think we were two young idiots who didn't have a clue of what or how the housing process works to feeling like God placed exactly the right people in our path to work with us. We got connected with real estate agent who is a crack up most people would talk to this guy for a minute and head the other direction but we went to college with his daughter and we couldn't help but feel the whole time that he was more like a father figure just looking out for us. He knows we are just starting out and he is not going to sell us anything we shouldn't afford...I say shouldn't afford because on paper we look good. But we don't want to strap ourselves and he is on it and is not going to lead us down that road. Our agent set us up with a lender who is just as comforting. He makes us feel like we are his only clients (which may be the case in this market).
Anyway as we were in church this morning I began to think about the significance of Easter and the magical timing of us being here during Holy Week to look at houses and how the whole process took on this new meaning in the matter of a few short days. In a few short days Jesus life was changed, and I couldn't help but think about how he is so apart of this process and putting the right people in our path and the right road in front of us. Matt and I are so blessed that things are going the way that they are and we know that God is going to make a way for all of this to just work out. In the way that Christ was risen from the tomb on Sunday, it is a bit of a re-birth for Matt and I to think that we are going to be able to have a house and settle down here with our family, something we didn't think was possible in the same way no one believed that Christ would rise from the dead.
Anyway those are my deep thoughts for the day. Below is a picture of the house that we placed an offer on. Keep in mind that it is a bit of a stretch it is bank owned and we offered them a REALLY little number, hopefully in this market they take it if not we know that God will have something else in mind. If you would please just pray with us over this process and all that will have to happen and the changes that are going to come about with us. And pray over this particular house with us...just that if it is God's will that it be ours. We just want to trust him through this whole process.
Stay tuned for Easter pictures of Ty Monster...we get back tomorrow and I will be able to upload them to the computer...
