Sponge Bath Time

So Ty has been asking to give Lyla a bath, and I keep telling him we can't give her an actual bath until her cord falls off...I don't think he quite got it because today I said, you want to help me give Lyla a bath he said yes!! I asked him to go and get me a Tupperware bowl from the kitchen so I could just put the wash cloth in it and he came back with a roasting pan. I said no we don't need one that big. (we must not have been on the same wavelength at all) So I ran down to the kitchen and just got a little plastic bowl. Ty looked at me like I was NUTS, and said "Is she going to fit in that?" I said No we are not putting her in it, and then explained better how we have to give her a bath right now. Then when I undressed her I showed him her cord and explained about how she was attached to me by that cord, and that was how she ate when she was in my tummy. After I explained, he looked up at me wide eyed and said "COOL" ... (maybe we have a future Dr. on our hands ) Anyway then we went on to give her a bath I asked him if he wanted to wash her, but he said no, and just mostly entertained her while I bathed her. Here is a picture of them....

Then we got her all cleaned up and Ty said she needs shoes, I remembered that I had saved some little white tennis shoes that Ty wore, so I put them on her for him. She looked so cute all cleaned up...

So after she was all cleaned up she passed out...Of course, this kid loves her sleep!

By the way I gave the blog a bit a of a girlie upgrade, I thought I had a great excuse to do that now!! :) Hope you like it :)

Life with Lyla

So we came home from the hospital on Saturday. And we had a rough, rough night on Saturday night...I think we figured out the formula Lyla was not her friend because she just could not get comfortable! So we were up all night. I'm sure Ty thought what the heck??? It had to be the formula though because I switched it that night, and last night was wonderful!! She only woke up once at 3:30 and then slept until 7:30 this morning. And I think the only reason she got up was because she heard the garage door. That will be fix TODAY! :) Other than that things are going good. And now that we have figured out that formula thing we should be doing good. So if anyone knows of any Enfamil coupons. Send them my way!!!

Matt is back at work today, because he has hours and we are not passing those up right now. He actually went back on Friday, and my mom spent the day with me at the hospital. So that is a little hard, but he calls every chance he gets. He doesn't want to put her down when he gets home. On top of playing with the Ty kid. I'm sure he is exhausted, he helps out with Lyla and is very attentive to Ty kid, even making trips to the pool with him most nights!
He is the most amazing daddy!!

I thought you would like some pictures of the family so here is a couple I can round up for you. Thanks for all your love and prayers...we can't wait for everyone to see her!

Here is a picture of all four of us in the hospital

Here is a cute picture that Ty took of Lyla. She was just staring at him so he grabbed a camera and took her picture. She is soaking him in just as much as he is her.

It is tough work being a big brother, as most of you know Ty usually jumps around like a maniac while he plays Wii, well this morning I came down to find him playing like this. Maybe he is just as tired as Matt & I are.

Ty is a BIG Brother!

Lyla Rose Davis was born last night at 6:46pm weighing in at 6lbs, 12oz. Ty is soaking her in requesting to hold her every chance he gets. She is a very...VERY calm baby! As a matter of fact Matt and I have not heard her cry since the first cry when she came out. So far she is very easy. Hopefully it stays that way! Here is some pictures from the big day! We will add more when we are home and more connected....

School Supplies...CHECK

Last week I got a tip on some sweet deals on school supplies so I went and snatched em' up. Well today Ty and I were able to finish his supplies list, and we scored him a backpack and lunch box for $2.75!! Yup! Thanks to some Kohl's coupons that I had, we got a sweet deal! And it is not even like he had to settle for something, he described the backpack as "the coolest backpack he ever had!" It is Mario Super Sluggers after all. Anyway here is a picture of the soon to be BIG BROTHER (and future 1st grader) with his loot of school supplies. He has had fun helping me buy the stuff and get it all out of the packages!

He is patiently awaiting the arrival of his sister....As is his mom!

Oh by the way the thrifty deal on the school supplies... $10.48 for everything he needed including the back pack and lunchbox, that were deemed coolest ever!

HOLD ON!

So I was pretty sure that Lyla would try and make a dramatic entrance into the world...She is my daughter after all. So with 13 days to go till my scheduled C-section I went into the Dr. yesterday and she checked and I am dilated to 3 cm! She said it could be anytime now, and basically if my contractions continue to call her and we could do the C-section. The contractions are still pretty random so I am just holding out. The dramatic part of course is that no one is here yet! My mom moved up her trip and will arrive on Sunday, because of this development. And Mike and Brenda are in Yellowstone. Today Matt has a full day of work, which right now is rare. So if Lyla knows what is good for her college fund she will hold on until tomorrow. We could really use those work hours right now. Anyway please just be praying for us as things speed up and we get ready to go in and welcome this little girl. Ty is really excited! Last night he said "I want her to come tonight."

We will let you know....
